Life is hard, stressful, fast-paced and can sometimes be overwhelming. That’s why EastIdahoNews.com is partnering with MorningStar Senior Living of Idaho Falls to bring you Life Lessons.

We’re asking MorningStar residents to share gems of wisdom every Tuesday with us. Some of their answers will make you laugh, some may make you cry, some may even change your life.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and last year Karen Monson introduced us to her grandmother. Karen told us how her grandma was diagnosed with breast cancer decades ago. This same grandmother saved Karen’s life when she was born without a heartbeat.

In this encore interview, Karen tells us how her grandmother held her near a hot coal stove through the night to bring her back to life.
