Wild Water & Wheels of Surfside Beach has been sold.

Lazarus Entertainment Group sold the property last April to outside investors who have plans to re-purpose the land into a housing complex.

The purchase price for the property has not been disclosed.

The business operated at 910 U.S. 17 Business Surfside Beach, SC 29575 for the past several decades. The attraction was a staple in the Surfside Beach area.

Sources we spoke with in the town of Surfside Beach said the theme park has no intentions of re-opening.

No timelines have been set by the new owners as to the beginning of construction for a housing complex.

The principle in Lazarus Entertainment Group is former Horry County Council Chairman, Mark Lazarus. He is a second generation businessman, like so many of his contemporaries in the City of Myrtle Beach.

This sale marks one of many second generation business owner sales in this short season, including:

Each of these sales have occurred in the last 12 to 24 months.
