According to AAA, a number of factors are causing gas prices in Montana to rise.

At least six California refineries are getting maintenance done right now, and there is a limited pipeline supply to the west coast from east of the Rockies.

A fire also has a refinery in Ohio possibly down for months. Demand has also increased.

Gas is up around 11 cents from last week in some parts of Montana, but our overall state average is up 3 cents from last week, to hit $3.97. The national average is up 6 cents from last week.
