Pitt County Sheriff Paula Dance said the shooting that happened Sunday night was not a random act of violence, and deputies are searching for the person or people who could have committed this crime.

Deputies responded to a call on Sunday, October 2nd, shortly after 11:00 pm, of a shooting at a home in the Rivercreek Mobile Home Park outside of Washington, North Carolina.

When deputies arrived, they found one brother, Au’Mau’Vion Watford dead from gunshot wounds.

The other brother, Auviaughne Watford was taken to the hospital to be treated for his injuries.

Sheriff Dance said they are not sure if this was drug or gang related, but said they are not ruling anything out.

We do know that there were other people at this particular residence, and we are now trying to track these people down and develop who may have committed this crime.” Said Sheriff Dance, “We certainly would encourage anyone that has any information in reference to this case, to please call us.
