EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — El Paso residents who recycle their energy appliances can get paid $70.
El Paso Electric is promoting the Texas Appliance Recycling Program throughout the whole month of October.
Residents can take advantage of the opportunity to recycle their old, energy-sucking refrigerator or freezer to get paid $70.
Now is the time to take advantage of this spooktacular opportunity to get rid of an old fridge or freezer that has been sitting at home for too long and make a profit out of it,” said Araceli Perea, Supervisor of Energy Efficiency. “Not only will customers obtain $70 for recycling their old fridge or freezer, but they will also save on their electric bill every month since older appliances consume more energy and are more demanding on the grid.
EPE works with ARCA Recycling to schedule free, contactless pickups at Texas residential customers’ homes. The process to take advantage of this opportunity is easy:
Customers can either call (888) 409-8567 or visit arcaincutility.com to learn more and schedule their pickup.
While EPE’s Texas Appliance Recycling Program is available to residential customers year-round, the promotional $70 rebate is only available for a limited time and will expire at the end of October.
Old appliances are recycled and converted into other products that are more environmentally conscious and consume less energy, preventing unnecessary costs in the customer’s monthly electric bill while assisting EPE on transforming the energy landscape to a brighter, cleaner future.
