Dog In Care Of Farmington Animal Control Had To Be Euthanized: Police

According to police, the dog was abused and neglected and in need of medical care.

FARMINGTON, CT — An abused dog being taken care of by the Farmington Animal Control office had to be euthanized late last week, despite the best efforts to save her.

On Thursday, the Farmington Police Department posted that the female mixed-breed dog was found abandoned in Farmington.

According to police, the cute pooch was abused and neglected and in need of medical care.

The police department set up a donation fund for the dog, who was nicknamed "K9 Mary."

Sadly, the dog didn't make it.

"Update: Sadly, after a consult with a local vet, she had to be euthanized due to her injuries," wrote the Farmington Police Department.
