More than 100 trees will be planted near the Bath House Cultural Center and the Stone Tables as part of a mitigation effort for the 20 trees removed during the trail construction project.

The city is inviting the public to participate in this event. District 9 City Council member Paula Blackmon and District 9 Park Board member Maria Hasbany are scheduled to be there too.

To volunteer, just show up at 9 a.m. Oct. 22 at the Stone Tables, 553-683 E. Lawther Drive.

Speaking of trees, the city extended the deadline to register to receive a free tree through Branch Out Dallas. The deadline is now Oct. 6, and trees will be available for pick-up Nov. 5. Register here, and learn more about the program here.
