The man charged with murder in a shooting that was sparked by an argument over a parking space in north Columbus made his first court appearance Friday.

Johnnie J. Wappner, 32, is charged with murder in the death of 32-year-old Marcus E. Deloney.

Police said before the shooting, both men were arguing over a parking spot, which escalated into a fight. Police said they believe both men displayed firearms during the fight.

On Friday, a judge set Wappner's bond at $1 million.
