Police are searching for the person they say assaulted a 17-year-old boy during a recent road rage incident in Oklahoma City.
The teenager said the suspect got out of his car and started punching him after cutting him off at a stoplight near the Southeast 15th exit off Interstate 35. His mother hopes police can track down the suspect.
"Why did you have to get out and hit my son? Beat my son up. Why couldn't you just keep driving?" Veronique Trezvant said.
Needing support from her family to conduct an interview with KOCO 5, Trezvant spoke about her 17-year-old son being attacked in a road rage incident Sunday evening.
"The suspect was in front of the victim's vehicle and actually got out of his vehicle, approached the victim, began assaulting him, punching him in the face numerous times before fleeing," Sgt. Dillon Quirk said.
Trezvant's son got his driver's license about a year ago.
"He doesn't even want to drive because of this," she said.
The attack sent the 17-year-old to a hospital with a few injuries, but he's expected to be OK.
"His whole face was bloody. His teeth ... he's gotta have a root canal done. I'm very angry," Trezvant said.
The teenager snapped pictures of the suspect, hoping police can identify him. But police said it's led them to a dead end.
"We've exhausted all leads on this," Quirk said. "Unfortunately, they haven't led to an identity of the suspect, and we're asking for the public's help."
Trezvant said she's thankful the incident wasn't worse than it was, but she still wants to get the suspect off the streets.
"Why would somebody do this to my baby?" she said.
