Three Spirit Airline Employees Fired for Fraud Scheme

A scheme to profit off of passengers in search for cheaper flights caused three spirit airlines employees their jobs. Two Pennsylvania based reservation agents and their supervisor are accused of encouraging travelers to book cheaper future flights, then altered their reservations to a more expensive flight for free without charging the airlines change fee. The indictment states the agents would charge customers a “commission” via cash app and pocket the money sent. It also said the fraud cost the airline more than $238 thousand in fees for more than 1,700 flights.
