While the organization does make case-related call or to arrange an interview, it will never request personal information such as your date of birth or social security number. The KBI is reminding residents not to give out such personal information over the phone.

Officials said that the best thing you can do if you suspect you have received a call like this to hang up, verify the number’s authenticity, and report it.
