THERE’S GONNA BE AGILITY GAMES CREATIVE FAMILY FUN FOOD TRUCKS VENDORS THE EVENT CAKE SOFT WITH THE SHORT WALK AND HOMAGE TO WHEN IT WAS CALLED MARCH FOR THE ANIMALS. YOU COULD BRING YOUR OWN DOG FOR THE WALK AND ENTER FOUR DIFFERENT CONTESTS. THERE’S GONNA BE A LOT OF GREAT THINGS TO DO INCLUDING MEAT OF THERAPY PET. WE’RE GONNA HAVE BUNNIES MINI HORSE DOGS. YOU NAME IT? ANGEL MEET ANIMALS UP FOR ADOPTION. ALL OF THE PROCEEDS WILL HELP CARE FOR THE THOUSANDS OF PETS AT THE MARYLAND SPCA THAT THEY TAKE IN EVERY YEAR LIKE 10 YEAR OLD. It's all about the animals this weekend in Baltimore County at the 2022 Festival for the Animals.The festival is one of the biggest fundraisers of the year for the Maryland SPCA, helping to pay for the care of animals being prepared for adoption.The festival returns in person this year for the first time since the pandemic. It's also the first time the event will be held at the Padonia Park Club in Baltimore County."That means fun, new experiences, like dog swimming, our dog drench, there's going to be agility games, create a family fund, food trucks, vendors," said Andy Beres, MDSPCA's marketing and communications director.The event kicks off at 10 a.m. Saturday with a short walk as an homage to when the event was called "March for the Animals." Attendees can bring their own dog for the walk and enter four different contests."There's going to be a lot of great things to do, including meet a therapy pet. We're going to have bunnies, a mini horse, dogs, you name it," Beres said.Attendees can also meet animals up for adoption. All of the proceeds will help care for the thousands of animals the MDSPCA takes in every year, like 10-year-old Stella, who had to have expensive surgery to remove tumors."It's very costly to provide care for animals. So, we rely on the support of the community," Beres said.Anyone interested in adopting Stella can call the MDSPCA at 410-235-8826.
