Valeido Davidson was granted bond Friday on charges of attempted murder and shooting into an unoccupied dwelling after allegedly opening fire on two Mobile Police officers Tuesday night.

Mobile District Judge Zack Moore set bond at $100,000 for each attempted murder charge and $30,000 for each shooting into a dwelling charge. The district attorney had requested no bond.

Should Davidson post bond, he would be subject to house arrest and electronic monitoring.

According to court paperwork, Davidson opened fire on Cpl. Jimmy Burch and Tawrence Battiste as they drove by responding to a shots fired call. The officers are the sons of Mobile Sheriff Captain Paul Burch and Mobile Public Safety Director Lawrence Battiste, respectively.

In Late July Mobile police launched ShotSpotter detection equipment in certain areas of Mobile in the first phase of its implementation.

So far, the police department has not responded to requests to identify what parts of the city the system is active in.

During an interview about the incident on Wednesday, Chief Paul Prine would not comment on if this incident was related to a ShotSpotter detection.

On Thursday, Mobile Police provided the first two months of data from the system telling NBC 15 that 179 incidents detected roughly 600 shots with only three 9-1-1 calls coming from the community to report shots being fired.

Davidson is scheduled for an arraignment on Monday, September 26.
