3 people found shot inside car in Pawtucket, police say

PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WLNE) — Pawtucket police said three people were found shot inside a car Saturday night.

The shooting happened at a bout 6 p.m. on Prospect Street.

A car with four people inside was shot at by a separate vehicle driving down a road, police said. Two of the people shot exited the car and took off on foot and were later brought to the hospital.

The two others tried to drive themselves to a hospital but stopped on the side of Interstate 95 south. They were also taken to a hospital.

Pawtucket police said two men, ages 24 and 26, and a 21-year-old woman were shot and brought to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Following that shooting, police arrested a person on Interstate 95. As of Saturday evening, it was unclear if that individual was a shooting suspect or just associated with the shooting victims in Pawtucket.

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
