LAS CRUCES - Doña Ana Sheriff's Office deputies were involved in a call regarding a suicidal man on Saturday, according to a news advisory.

This resulted in a deputy shooting a man. While the exact location of the shooting was not disclosed by the department, Sheriff Kim Stewart told the Sun-News that her most recent information indicates the male victim is still alive and is being treated for his injuries in an area hospital.

More information is expected to be released Monday morning at a department press conference.

DASO officials said this is an ongoing investigation and no further information will be released until then.
