Boulder County area cone zones for May 22-29, 2022

Boulder

30th Street: 30th Street has intermittent lane closures in the northbound right lane. The lane closure is between Pearl Street and Mapleton Avenue. Traffic will be directed with arrow boards and traffic control devices. The project is expected to be completed in July.

Central Avenue near 57th Court: The pedestrian bridge is closed at Central near 57th Court. An active detour is in place behind traffic barricades in the roadway. There is no set date for reopening the bridge.

Pearl Street: Pearl from Ninth to 11th streets is closed until Aug. 31.

Pleasant Street: Pleasant is closed from Broadway to 12th. Westbound lane is open to local traffic from Broadway to Alley.

Pennsylvania Avenue: Pennsylvania from 12th to 13th streets is closed until Aug. 31.

Baseline Road and Foothills Parkway: Eastbound traffic is shifted to westbound lanes. The project is set to be completed by July 1.

30th Street and Colorado Avenue: Left turns are restricted westbound, eastbound and southbound for underpass construction. Southeast quadrant sidewalks are closed, and temporary crossings are available at 30th, Euclid Avenue and Colorado west of the intersection. The northbound bus stop on 30th Street is closed. Roadwork takes place from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays. The project is expected to be complete in October.

North Broadway Street: Concrete is being added and a bike lane is being installed on North Broadway. Vehicle lanes shift to the existing northbound lane and bike lane. The west sidewalk is closed. The bicycle and pedestrian reroute is on the west along Ninth Street. Construction occurs from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays and is expected to be completed by Dec. 30.

Boulder County

Sugarloaf Road: Boulder County started the last of the 2013 flood recovery-related projects on Sugarloaf Road. The project involves the construction of five retaining walls, drainage improvements and reconstruction of approximately 2,000 feet of roadway just up from Colo. 119 and includes a 4-foot shoulder in the uphill lane. Temporary traffic signals were installed on Sugarloaf Road because the road is reduced to one lane in the construction zone. In addition, Colo. 119 and Boulder Canyon Drive is reduced to one lane during working hours from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Flaggers are being used to guide travelers on Colo. 119 during the lane closures. The project is anticipated to last into October.

South Boulder Road: Failing concrete panels will be replaced on South Boulder Road between Manhattan Drive and Cherryvale Road starting at a date to be determined. This work will require lane closures in both directions on South Boulder Road and a pedestrian and cyclist detour due to a shoulder closure. The work is anticipated to take two weeks, weather permitting. Delays should be expected during the entire project due to South Boulder Road being reduced to one lane in each direction.

Olde Stage Road: Boulder County Road Maintenance began replacing two culverts on Olde Stage Road on May 16. Work is anticipated to take two weeks. Travel will be reduced to one lane in the two work zones during working hours from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Use caution, the asphalt road surface will be removed until both culverts are installed, which means there will be two patches of gravel road. A larger resurfacing project is expected to start in early July.

Chip Seal Roadwork: Chip seal operations throughout Boulder county will begin June 7. Work will take place from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. The project is anticipated to continue into July. Work will take place on nine stretches of roadway in the following order: 119th Street from Oxford Road to the county line; 115th Street from Oxford Road to Niwot Road and on to East County Line Road; Isabelle Road from 95th Street to U.S. 287; Valmont Road from 75th to 95th Street; Jay Road from 63rd to 75th Street; Lookout Road from 75th street to U.S. 287; Somerset and Longview roads in Niwot; 73rd/75th Streets from Niwot Road to Colo. Highway 66; North 115th from Colo. Highway 66 to Yellowstone Road. Work will require lane closures and reduced speeds. Cyclists are advised to avoid these roads .

Lafayette

LaMont Does parking lot: The LaMont Does Park parking lot is closed along South Boulder Road. The parking lot on Saratoga Drive will remain open and accessible for overflow parking. The restrooms at LaMont are also closed. Temporary restrooms are available in the Saratoga Drive parking lot.

South Boulder Road: Westbound South Boulder Road will have one through travel lane and one left turn-only travel lane. Delays are expected.

RTD bus stop: RTD bus riders who use the stop on South Boulder Road at Robin Hood Street can catch the bus at the next stop on Sir Galahad Drive at South Boulder Road. Please be aware of all traffic and stay on designated paths.

South Boulder Road sidewalk: The sidewalk on the south side of South Boulder Road from Saratoga Drive to 120th Street is closed. Pedestrians and cyclists should follow sidewalk detour signage and use the sidewalk on the north side of South Boulder Road in this area.
