Baltimore police searching for man accused of shooting stepson at Federal Hill restaurant

Baltimore police are asking the public's help to find a man they say shot his 19-year-old stepson at a Federal Hill restaurant last week.

Police said Victor Shuron, 45, of Middle River, wounded the teenager at the Sweet Peaz restaurant in the 1000 block of South Charles Street around 4 p.m. on May 13.

Shuron got into a dispute at the restaurant earlier and then left. Sometime later, he returned with a gun and shot the victim in the chest, police said.

The victim was taken to a hospital. His condition was described as serious on the day of the shooting.

Anyone with information about Shuron's whereabouts is asked to call 911 or contact the Metro Crime Stoppers tip line at 1-866-7LOCKUP.

As of Friday morning, Baltimore police reported that 125 people had been killed in homicides so far this year, a 4.2% increase when compared with the same time period last year. Also Friday, Baltimore police reported 262 nonfatal shootings so far this year, a 7.4% increase when compared with the same time period last year.
