New Mets infielder Eduardo Escobar was pleasantly surprised when his teammates celebrated the 10th anniversary of his big-league debut.

He received a commemorative bottle of champagne for his decade in the majors, marked “10 Years” with the date of the anniversary, and signed by his teammates.

But he isn’t opening that bottle just yet. He is saving that for a more special occasion.

“I’ll drink it when we become champions,” Escobar said, via MLB.com.

Escobar hopes that bottle will only be on ice until this coming October, as New York has World Series hopes this year as they maintain a comfortable hold on the NL East lead, despite recent injuries. Escobar himself is still working to come around, hitting just .204 on the season.
