A group of partners will host a series of family fun nights at MLK Park starting next month.
The MLK Park Parties free event series will take place 6-8 p.m. Thursdays, June 2, July 7 and Aug. 4 at Martin Luther King Park, 1200 Martin Luther King Jr. St. SE in Grand Rapids.
The June event is game night-themed, with yard games, board games and prizes.
Art immersion is the focus of the July event, with a “paint, sip and relax” opportunity alongside live music.
In August, the event is back-to-school-themed and will offer a petting zoo, free haircuts, back-to-school supplies and XOP dancers.
Event partners include the city of Grand Rapids Office of Special Events, Mobile GR & Parking Services, Country Fresh, the Grand Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce, Grand Rapids Public Library, Grand Rapids African-American Arts & Music Festival, Michigan Film & Digital Media Office and the Neighborhood Match Fund.
