CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Active COVID-19 cases in West Virginia increased by more than 200 Friday bringing the total number to 2,296.
Thursday’s active cases were at 2,079.
The state Department of Health and Human Resources added three new deaths Friday. COVID-19 related deaths since the start of the pandemic stand at 6,915.
The state has confirmed the deaths of a 90 year old female from Berkeley County, a 79 year old female from Berkeley County, and a 74 year old female from Raleigh County.
There are 159 patients hospitalized with the virus.
