RACINE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Racine Police said the man suspected of pushing a woman who was 26 weeks pregnant to the ground was taken into custody Thursday, May 19.

The incident happened on April 11 near 11th and Villa streets in Racine and was caught on a neighbor's surveillance camera from across the street.

The video shows a pregnant woman on a sidewalk and a man across the street. The man walks up to the woman and pushes her from behind and runs away. The woman can be heard yelling in pain from the fall.

"Out of nowhere someone shoved me and I was on the ground," Kimber, the victim in the incident, told CBS 58 in an interview, describing the moment it all happened. "My daughter came back running towards me, her dad helped me off the ground, my husband came outside to help me."

Kimber said she does not know the man who pushed her or why he did it, a question that troubles her.

"I don't know why he pushed me so that's the big question, what did I do?" Kimber asked.

Neighbors provided police with the video capturing the incident and members of the community helped law enforcement with the investigation, an effort Kimber is grateful for.

"Everybody in the community working together," Kimber said. "That's what we need."

Racine Police Chief Maurice Robinson told reporters the video is difficult to watch.

"It's horrific," Chief Robinson said. "And for someone to hear her yell after she's been pushed to the ground just, it tugs at your hear to know that this happened to a woman just walking down the street."

Police identified the suspect at 30-year-old Joshua Lewis. He was taken into custody Thursday afternoon.

"He is absolutely someone we need to get off the streets," Chief Robinson.

Kimber said she is overwhelmed how the events from April until now have transpired but most importantly is looking forward to giving birth to her fifth baby boy as she will be 32 weeks pregnant on Friday.

"I am actually really happy that he's still here with us," Kimber said. "Can't wait to see him."
