Crash between SUV and dump truck injures two

Wayne County, N.Y. — Two people were taken to the hospital after a crash between a dump truck and SUV Wednesday morning.

This happened just before 7:30 a.m. in the Town of Butler near State Route 104 near State Route 89.

It appears that the man driving the SUV crashed head on with the dump truck, according to the Wolcott Fire Assistant Chief Ryan Henry.

He was trapped in his vehicle and in and out of consciousness when first responders arrived. The man driving the dump truck was alert and able to get out.

Both drivers were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Drivers were encouraged to avoid the area Wednesday morning. The road was expected to reopen by noon.
