A bear was spotted on Tuesday near a fire station in Missoula on Pine Street.

The firefighters spotted it walking along the creek nearby. Emergency responders warn all bears are potentially dangerous.

Montana wildlife officials warn most conflicts with people involve bears protecting their young or a food source.

Fish, Wildlife and Parks advises to:

Keep a safe distance . Never intentionally get close to a bear.

Make loud noises, properly store garbage and food.

Protect fruit trees, bushes, gardens, compost and animals with an electric fence.

Carry bear spray and know how to use it when recreating.
