Ohio State Buckeyes in third place in NCAA golf regional

Ohio State moved up to third place at the NCAA men's golf regional at the Buckeyes' Scarlet Course on Tuesday.

The Buckeyes are 6-over par and in third place, four shots ahead of Arkansas and San Francisco. The top five teams at the end of play Wednesday will earn a spot in the NCAA championship in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Junior Jackson Chandler led the Buckeyes on Tuesday with a round of 2-under 69. He has made seven birdies and just two bogeys in his past 25 holes. He is tied for sixth at 1-under par.

JonErik Alford and Maxwell Moldovan each carded rounds of even-par 71 on Tuesday. Alford made three bogeys and three birdies while Moldovan had five bogeys and five birdies, including a pair in his final three holes.

Adam Wallin also closed with two birdies in his final four holes and posted a 2-over 73 on Tuesday. Patrick Schmucking posted a matching 73 as he played his final five holes in 1-under par.

Georgia Tech and Oklahoma State are tied for the lead at 7-under.
