WORCESTER, MA — The opening of a Worcester Ruth's Chris Steak House is likely near, with the owners set to appear before a key city board on Thursday for a license to operate a restaurant.

The Ruth's Chris owner, RSCH Operations, Inc., is set to appear before the Worcester License Commission on Thursday morning to request licenses to serve alcohol and food, and provide entertainment, according to the agenda. The restaurant will also have a patio seating up to 40, according to the application.

Plans for the Ruth's Chris were revealed in August 2019. The project was delayed due to the pandemic, with the opening later pushed back to fall 2021, and then again to this summer. The Worcester Ruth's Chris restaurant will be located at 4 Mercantile St. next to the new Mercantile restaurant, which opened in early April.
