SAN ANTONIO - An early morning fire destroyed a South Side Mexican restaurant.

The fire started around 3 a.m. Wednesday at Taqueria El Tapatio De Jalisco off Roosevelt Avenue near Loop 410.

Crews reported heavy fire when they arrived. Firefighters had to evacuate the building because of a heavy propane leak caused by the fire.

They believe the fire started in the kitchen and spread fast throughout the rest of the building. Once the propane leak was fixed, crews were able to get the fire under control.

No injuries were reported. The restaurant is a total loss.
