Former Fairmont State guard Jamel Morris will be returning to Best Virginia for the 2022 TBT tournament in July. Morris becomes the fourth confirmed member with John Flowers, Kevin Jones and Jaysean Paige.

”Last year’s experience was amazing, the fans were amazing. I couldn’t pass up this opportunity to play in Charleston again,” Morris said.

Best Virginia confirmed Morris returning on their social media accounts on Tuesday afternoon.

Morris joined the Best Virginia team in 2021 to become the first non-WVU alumni member of the team. Morris fit right into the mix with the rest of the former Mountaineers, helping lead Best Virginia to the Sweet-16 in 2021.

Morris played at Glenville State from 2011-13, before transferring to Fairmont State to finish out his collegiate career from 2013-16. During his senior year for the Fighting Falcons, Morris averaged 13.8 points on 43 percent shooting from the field.

Following his graduation from Fairmont State, Morris went on to play for the Grand Rapids Gold, an NBA G-League team of the Detroit Pistons. Morris has played professional basketball since 2017 playing in Croatia, Poland, France and Germany. Morris played for Syntainics MBC during the 2021-22 season, averaging 16.6 points, 2.0 rebounds and 2.7 assists in 34 games.

Best Virginia is returning to Charleston, WV, in July to co-host one region of the TBT tournament with Herd That, Marshall’s alumni team. The Charleston region will run from July 24-27. The link for tickets for the 2022 TBT can be found here.
