Portland City Council Primary 2022: Ryan Wins, Runoff For Hardesty

PORTLAND, OR β€” It was a split decision for incumbents in City Hall Tuesday night. Commissioner Dan Ryan handily beat his primary opponent while Jo Ann Hardesty will have to go through a runoff.

Ryan is leading Alanna "A.J." McCreary. He had 59 percent of the vote compared to her 23 percent.

Meanwhile, while Hardesty had garnered 39 percent of the vote in early tallies, it was not enough to avoid a runoff.

The question is, who will she face?

Rene Gonzalez had 25 percent of the vote compared to 24 percent the vote for Vadim Mozyrsky.

There are still thousands of ballots that were mailed in that may not get counted until the end of the week.
