A 47-year-old man was arrested early Monday morning after police discovered roughly 15 pounds of methamphetamines and multiple guns while serving a search warrant at a Central Long Beach home, authorities said in a statement Tuesday.

Records show Javier Rodriguez was taken into custody around 6:50 a.m. on Monday, May 16, near the intersection of East 15th Street and Cherry Avenue, which is just south of Pacific Coast Highway. With assistance from the DEA, officers conducted a search at Rodriguez’s residence in the 2300 block of East 15th Street around 3 a.m. for a narcotics investigation where he was an alleged conspirator, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

During a search of the residence, authorities discovered and seized a large number of illegal narcotics and two guns, the LBPD said.

Rodriguez was booked in Long Beach City Jail for one count each: possession of a controlled substance for sale, prohibited possession of ammunition, possession of an assault weapon and possession of a firearm by a felon. His bail was set at $500,000, according to the LBPD.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
