The Eagles add another wide receiver to the nest, Josh Hammond, formerly of the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Well, you can’t accuse the Philadelphia Eagles of ignoring the wide receiver corps, can you? During the most recent NFL Draft, we asked ourselves (and each other about the likelihood of this organization drafting a wide receiver in Round 1 for the third year in a row. They did us one better.

Stop us if you’ve heard this story already. Philly traded a first-round and third-round draft choice to the Tennessee Titans in exchange for all-world wideout A.J. Brown and immediately announced that he had also been inked to a four-year, $100-million extension. No one’s been complaining about the wide receiver corps since that happened.

Prior to A.J.’s arrival, Philly agreed to terms on one-year deals for Greg Ward and Zach Pascal in March. This after signing John Hightower to a future/reserve deal at the beginning of February.

Post A.J.’s arrival, they’ve gotten even busier, adding Devon Allen and undrafted rookie Britain Covey. Then, over the course of the past two days, they’ve signed both Keric Wheatfall, who joined the team after trying out during rookie minicamp, and Josh Hammond, a former Jacksonville Jaguars prospect that they had just waived.

The next time they have a wide receivers meeting, 12 guys should be in the room. There, you’re all caught up. Here are three fun facts about the new guy.
