57-Year-Old Man Killed in Fiery Car Accident near Long Beach Boulevard

LONG BEACH, CA (May 17, 2022) – Early Saturday morning, Erik Moen was pronounced dead after a fiery car accident on 710 Freeway.

The incident occurred around 5:50 a.m., on the southbound lanes of the freeway near Long Beach Boulevard on May 14.

Under unclear circumstances, a Ford truck and a Honda Civic collided in the area. The impact caused one of the vehicles to overturn and catch fire, trapping one victim inside.

Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics pronounced 57-year-old Moen, of Yorba Linda dead at the scene.

At this time, an active investigation to determine further information remains ongoing.
