New details about a shooting that police say stemmed from an incident at Lloyd's Pub in west El Paso were shared in court on Tuesday.

Matthew Romero, 21, is accused of shooting 30-year-old Bryan Otherson on April 28 around 2:30 a.m., according to the El Paso Police Department.

Otherson was found by police officers on the ground with gunshot wounds in the 6200 block of Dew Drive.

Otherson was shot twice and his arm was seriously injured, the state said in court that.

According to a witness who is a bartender at Lloyd's, Romero was being aggressive and throwing gang signs, the state said.

The state said Romero could be heard saying "come on b****, come on p****," in audio from the incident.

Romero's attorney said Otherson approached Romero's mother and grandmother before the shooting took place.

In the audio, Romero can be heard telling Otherson to "quit bothering him" and telling his mother to get into the car, according to the attorney.

Romero's attorney asked for a bond reduction on Tuesday.

Romero is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon with a bond of $150,000.

The state opposed a bond reduction.

Judge Sara Priddy said that she has not heard the audio and will make a decision Wednesday morning.
