ALBANY, NY (WRGB) — State Police say they have arrested an Albany man, accused of stealing a lawmaker's car from a parking garage and crashing it.
Police say back on May 9th, just before 10:00 PM troopers responded to a report of a vehicle stolen from the underground parking garage at the Empire State Plaza.
Hours later the vehicle was located in the area of Lark and Madison after it was involved in a crash.
Alex P. Slagle, 25 is accused of stealing the unlocked BMW and loading the vehicle with tools, stolen from the parking garage. He's also accused of totaling the vehicle in the crash and fleeing the scene.
He's charged with 2 counts of criminal possession of stolen property and criminal mischief.
Lawmakers tell us it was Assemblyman Andy Goodell's car. They say he came out of a dinner late Monday night and found his car was missing from the parking garage.
