18-Year-Old New Haven Man Shot, Killed Monday Night: Police
Anthony Strother, 18, shot on South Genesee Street late Monday night, was taken to Yale New Haven Hospital where he died, police said.
NE HAVEN, CT —An 18-year-old New Haven man was shot and killed Monday night, police said.
At around 11:20 p.m., police were called to South Genesee Street, between East Ramsdell Street and Harper Avenue for a report of a person who'd been shot, spokesperson Scott Shumway said.
There, officers found Anthony Strother, who had been struck by gunfire. He was taken to Yale New Haven Hospital where he "succumbed to his injuries," Shumway said.

The New Haven Police Department Bureau of Identification collected ballistic evidence from the shooting scene. Detectives from the Major Crimes Unit are leading the investigation, Shumway said.
