Six Newborn Puppies Abandoned In Holliston: Police

The puppies were left in a box on the side of the road on Friday the 13th on Cedar Street.

HOLLISTON, MA - Holliston police are seeking information from the public about six newborn puppies that were found abandoned in a box on the night of Friday the 13th.

The puppies were found in a box along the side of the road on Cedar St. sometime between 8 and 9 p.m. Friday night, according to a police statement. Police noted that it is illegal to abandon animals in Massachusetts.

Police are seeking information about the circumstances surrounding the puppies. Tips may be made confidentially.

Anyone with information about the abandoned puppies can contact Holliston police at 508-429-1212, Detective Ciara Maguire at maguire@hollistonpolice.com, or the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals at lawenforcement@mspca.org.

The puppies are now being cared for by animal control. Police stressed that the puppies are not available for adoption at this time and that they cannot respond to that type of inquiry.
