The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office said a man faces child neglect charges after a domestic incident in which a vehicle with two juveniles inside was struck by another vehicle.

Devin M. Redden, 20, of Fayetteville was arrested after a crash Monday on Laurel Creek Road, according to a Facebook post from the sheriff’s office.

When deputies arrived at the scene, they saw two vehicles that appeared to have been in a wreck and people arguing in the road, the sheriff’s office said.

Deputies said a passenger in the vehicle that was struck was in a relationship with the driver of the striking vehicle. They said they recognized the people involved in the crash as they had been attempting to serve a domestic violence protective order on the man.

Two juveniles were in the vehicle that was struck, the sheriff’s office said.

Redden was charged with two counts of child neglect creating risk of serious injury and domestic battery. He was arraigned on the charges and released on bond.
