More than 70 local businesses will be participating in the "Buy Local Bash" at the F-Shed at the Syracuse Regional Market this Thursday night.

Small local businesses are still recovering from the most difficult days of the pandemic when some had to shut down completely. This event, put on by Syracuse First, hopes to bring in more support for those businesses all in one location.

You'll find more than 70 businesses selling local products ranging from jewelry and jams to homemade baked goods.

One of vendors is Old Home Distillers, a local distillery in Madison County. Their homemade spirits, like maple whiskey, bourbon and gin, can be found in some local stores.

They will be at the event with some products, but they're co-owner says he's looking forward to networking with businesses and the community.

"It's usually something we look forward to. Usually it's a fall event and now we're happy to see it in the spring. And, it's always something we're excited to do; to meet new vendors, meet new people to network with, and of course, always the great people," said Old Home Distillers Co-Owner Adam Carvell.

"It encourages people to shop locally. We didn't want to wait to November to do this. We wanted to gather everybody while the weather was nice, and people felt save to come out and gather and so that's why we're hosting it this year in May," said Buy Local Bash Coordinator Beth Savicki.

Organizers said the last time the event was held was back in November of 2019.

In addition to all the vendors selling their products you'll also be able to take advantage of free samples and live music.

The event will take place this Thursday, May 19 from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the F-Shed at the Regional Market. Tickets are $5. To get those tickets and to find a full list of vendors, click here.

One of this year's sponsors for the event is Spectrum Reach. Spectrum Reach and Spectrum Networks share a parent company.
