EL PASO, Texas (CBS4) — The El Paso Independent School District will discuss plans for its vacant school during Tuesday's board meeting.
The school board will discuss and take action on declaring the vacant properties surplus, which would allow the properties to be sold, repurposed, leased, or exchanged.

There are 13 school sites, six other empty properties, and six empty plots of land that will be discussed.
Among them is the former Crosby Elementary School in northeast El Paso, which has been the scene of two separate fires this year.
In April, CBS4 spoke with the district about its plans for the buildings.
The district said that the buildings would remain under district ownership until the school board declared them surplus.
Residents in the neighborhood, where some of these buildings are located, called them eyesores and hazards.
The district said the empty properties receive weekly inspections and monthly maintenance.
