ALRIGHT, SO EARNING YOUR COLLEGE DEGREES I NOT QUITE THE ACCOMPLISHMENT NO MATTER WHEN YOU START. YEAH AND AN 81 YEARLD O BIRMINGHAM NATIVE PROVES THAT IT’S NEVER TOO LATE TO FURTHER YOUR EDUCATION. SO LAST WEEK GALE YOUNG FULFILLED HER LIFELONG DREAM OF EARNING A COLLEGE DEGREE. SHE WALKED ACROSS THE STAGE AT CALHOUN COMMUNITY COLLEGE AFTER DECADES HAVE NOT ENROLLING IN SCHOOL. APPARENTLY, SHE TALKS SO MUCH ABOUT IT THROUGHOUT HER LIFE HER DAUGHTER DECIDED TO TAKE MATTERS INTO HER OWN HANDS. WAS ONE DAY I WAS TALKING TO MY DAUGHTER ON THE PHONE WHO LISTENED TO ME FOR TTHA THE THOUSANDTH TIME THAT I WISH I’D GONE TO COLLEGE AND WHILE I’M STILL ON THE PHONE WHIT HER WITHOUT ME KNOWING ITHE S ENROLLED ME IN COLLEGE AND THEN I WAS STUCK THAT GOING TO CLASS. Last week, an 81-year-old Alabama woman proved graduating from college is a great accomplishment, no matter your age!With a little push from her daughter, Gayle Young fulfilled her lifelong dream of earning a college degree at Calhoun Community College. A couple of years ago, Young's daughter took it upon herself to enroll her mother at CCC after she talked about graduating from college for decades.Once she realized what her daughter had done, Young lightheartedly said she was "stuck" and decided she had no choice but to take the opportunity.Young graduated from Calhoun Community College with a 3.7 GPA.
