The National Weather Service in Reno says the best viewing will be in Lyon, Mono and Mineral counties. Stargazers in the Reno-Sparks area will be able to see broken mid-high level clouds which could faintly shield the time of totality. Viewers should look for the eclipse in the south-southeastern portion of the sky.
Timeline:
A total lunar eclipse typically only occurs twice every two-and-a-half to three years.
