MISSOULA, Mont. — A nine-year-old boy was involved in a pedestrian-vehicle collision in Missoula on Saturday at 3:15 p.m.
A vehicle going eastbound on Bordeaux Blvd. struck the boy riding his bike crossing the street, throwing him off the bike, according to the Missoula Police Department officials.
The boy was riding his bike on Brisbane Street going northbound on the sidewalk. He rode down a handicap ramp, and went to cross Bordeaux Blvd. on the west side of the street.
Law enforcement officials say the driver's view was blocked by a vehicle parked on the side of Brisbane Street, causing them not to see the child crossing the street.
According to witnesses' statements and the Missoula Police Department investigation, the driver did not cause the accident based on the speed of the car and how far the child was thrown.
The boy was taken to St. Patrick's Hospital with road rash and bruises.
