LARCHMONT, NY — If you miss Bistro Le Steak on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, which closed on Jan. 1, 2021 after nearly a quarter-century, we have some great news for you.

The Upper East Side French tradition is now in Larchmont.

Brasserie Le Steak celebrated its grand opening at 1957 Palmer Ave. in Larchmont on Tuesday. The owner describes the new location as "Old recipes in a new place. From NYC to Larchmont. Old memories. New beginnings. Same great food."

When he closed the Upper East Side location at 75th St. and Third Ave. due to the pandemic last year, owner Nicki Jakupi said, "It is with great difficulty and sadness that we announce the closing of Bistro Le Steak."

Kakupi thanked customers who had celebrated a "birthday, first date, or simply a late-night meal" at the restaurant over the years. "We are saying farewell to our neighborhood French bistro, but not to a lifetime of relationships it has discovered and built. We are sorry to say goodbye and remain hopeful that soon we may find a new place to call home."

Le Steak has now found that new home in Westchester County.

The owner said the food at the new location will be the same as what was on offer at the NYC location. Some house favorites on the menu include Le Steak burger, chicken Française, escargots, frog's legs Provençale, mussels marinière and, of course, steak frites.

Brasserie Le Steak is located at 1957 Palmer Ave. in Larchmont. They will be open on Tuesdays-Saturdays, from 5 p.m. - 10 p.m. and on Sundays, from 4 p.m. - 9 p.m. and will eventually expand their opening hours.
