Police in Bloomington are asking for the public’s help in identifying two people they say shot a dog and then backed a stolen vehicle over it last week.

The dog was recovering from surgery Friday after having BB pellets removed from its right leg and other areas and having its eye removed, police said.

According to Bloomington police, on November 18, police community service officers responded to a report of an injured dog near 106th Street and Morgan Avenue. When they arrived, officers found a dog with injuries to its face and body.

Officers took the dog to a veterinary clinic where its eye was removed along with BB pellets.

Meanwhile, detectives found video and still photos that showed two people shot at the dog with a BB gun and then backed over it as they left the area.

Further investigation showed the two people buying gas in the east metro. Later, the stolen vehicle the suspects used was found in St. Paul.

Bloomington Police ask anyone with information on this crime to please call 952-563-4900 or Detective Harms at 952-563-4689.
