SATURDAY'S GIRLS' BASKETBALL MATCHUPS

Lighthouse Christian (2-2) at Clarksville (1-6)

Christian Academy (1-6) vs. Lighthouse Christian (1-2)

GAME TIMES: noon (Clarksville), 2:30 p.m. (CAI), both games at Clarksville.

COACHES: Brian Brown, 12-36 in 3rd year at Lighthouse. Amanda Carmichael, 9-22 in 2nd year at Clarksville, 69-116 in 9th year overall. Carson Casey, 9-41 in 3rd year at CAI.

LAST OUTING: Lighthouse defeated Madison Christian, 59-18. Clarksville lost to Rock Creek Academy, 44-30. Christian Academy lost to Rock Creek Academy, 48-43 OT.

OUTLOOK: First time for Lighthouse to play either school. This will be a tough back-to-back doubleheader given a short bench for the Lions. Abigail Rousey is coming in off a 26-point, 8-rebound game against Madison Christian. Clarksville has a young roster with just two seniors. Both opponents are struggling to score with Christian Academy at 27.6 ppg and Clarksville at 29.0.

Eastern Greene (4-1) at North Central (Farmersburg) (4-1)

GAME TIME: 7:30 p.m.

COACHES: Greg Burton, 28-40 in 4th year at Eastern Greene. Joey Davidson, 82-71 in 7th year at North Central.

LAST OUTING: Eastern Greene defeated Owen Valley, 54-44. North Central defeated Eminence, 59-45.

SERIES LAST 15 YEARS: Eastern Greene, 10-3.

LAST MEETING: Eastern Greene, 54-47, Jan. 2, 2021.

OUTLOOK: SWIAC opener for Eastern, while North Central has beaten Clay City and lost to Linton (50-42 in OT) even as the Miners had three foul out in regulation, so Eastern has its hands full in the annual battle of Thunderbirds. 5-9 freshman Jayln Davidson leads NC at 19 ppg, 5 apg, 5 spg.
