38-year-old charged in 2020 murder, robbery in Portland neighborhood
A man has been arrested and charged in connection with a shooting that took place back in August of 2020, according to Louisville Metro Police.
Courtecy L. Miles, 38, is accused of firing several shots at and killing Brian Cardwell, 34.
The shooting happened on Aug. 1, 2020, at 540 N. 17th Street in the Portland neighborhood. LMPD officers were dispatched to the scene, and there, they found Cardwell inside a residence, already dead from his gunshot wounds.
The police interviewed a witness who said that he had dropped off Miles, also known as "Chicago," and Cardwell at the address.

Miles was captured on surveillance video at several locations following the incident. Investigators then obtained video showing Miles fleeing Cardwell's residence carrying a firearm and bag containing Cardwell’s property.
Miles is charged with murder and first-degree robbery.
