Free diabetes screenings available at YMCA locations starting Nov. 30

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Free diabetes screenings will be available at several YMCA locations starting Tuesday, Nov. 30.

Baton Rouge General Physicians Group (BRGP) said screenings will be available until Friday, Dec. 3. Screening assessments include body mass index (BMI), blood pressure checks, glucose testing and an A1C blood test (if recommended).

Anyone 18 years old and older is welcome to receive diabetes screenings.

Screening dates and locations:

• Tuesday, Nov. 30: A.C. Lewis YMCA, 350 S. Foster Dr., Baton Rouge

• Wednesday, Dec. 1: Paula G. Manship YMCA, 8100 YMCA Plaza Dr., Baton Rouge

• Thursday, Dec. 2: Americana YMCA, 4200 Liberty Way, Zachary

• Friday, Dec. 3: C.B. Pennington Jr. YMCA, 15550 Old Hammond Hwy., Baton Rouge

Screenings will take place from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.
