Thanksgiving is this Thursday, Nov. 25.

Here’s what’s open and what’s closed in Long Beach and the South Bay area.

Schools, banks, U.S. financial markets, courthouses and federal, state, county and city offices.

The mail will also not be delivered.

Residential trash pickup, meanwhile, will be one day late for Thursday customers in Torrance. Thursday and Friday customers will be one day late in Rancho Palos Verdes and in most other cities. Check with your specific cities for more information.

Trash collection in Long Beach will continue as regularly scheduled.

Libraries in Torrance will close at 6 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 24, and will remain closed throughout the holiday weekend. Redondo Beach and El Segundo libraries will be closed Thursday and Friday.

Most other city services, except those of the emergency variety, will also be closed for Thanksgiving. Emergency services include fire and police, as well as gas and water emergencies.
