(UPDATE 3:57 P.M.) – The Lansing Police Department has confirmed details of the incident.

At 1:30 p.m. LPD officers were dispatched to the 1800 block of Herbert St in Lansing after reports of a shooting.

Officers discovered two gunshot wound victims, one 33-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man. Both were transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers established a vehicle description and suspect on scene and an Ingham County Deputy on patrol saw a vehicle matching the description at Pennsylvania Ave and Saginaw St. The Deputy believed the vehicle was involved in the shooting and attempted to perform a traffic stop.

The vehicle fled and the deputy followed. The suspect’s vehicle then crashed into another car on W. Ottawa and N. Walnut St, no one was injured.

The driver, a 33-year-old man, was taken into custody and a handgun was recovered.

Police believe the violence was an isolated incident and that there are no ongoing threats to the community.

(UPDATE) (2:31 P.M.) – Police are investigating a crash on W. Ottawa St. and N. Walnut in Lansing.

Police told 6 News that they are investigating this crash in connection to the shooting on Norman and Herbert.

The crashed vehicle matches eyewitness description of the vehicle used in the alleged shooting.

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) -Lansing Police are responding to reports of a shooting at Norman and Herbert in Lansing at around 1:30 p.m. on Monday.

Witnesses told 6 News that they several heard shots fired and saw a vehicle speed away from the scene.

Police have taped off a home near Norman and Herbert.

Police are still investigating and have not given any details as to what the incident is at this time.
