One dead after hit and run on I-65 Service Road and Wilson Ave.

PRICHARD, Ala. (WPMI) — On 10/20/21 Colby Edward Dobbins 22-year-old male was struck Wednesday night between 8 - 9 pm at the I-65 Service Road and Wilson Ave in the City of Prichard.

The witness on scene stated that Dobbins was crossing the service road when a black SUV was moving at a high rate of speed and struck Dobbins injuring him.

The vehicle is now believed to be a black GMC with minimal to severe cosmetic damage to the front of the vehicle. The driver of the LSA vehicle placed his emergency lights on and slowed down, but then sped off without calling 911.

C. Dobbins was transported to USA hospital in critical condition where he later succumbed to his injuries’. If anyone witnessed the crime or knows the whereabouts of the vehicle in question, please contact Detective Jason Hadaway with Prichard Major Crimes Unit at 251-452-2211.
