Oklahoma City police said one man is wanted for a string of thefts at three metro businesses. So far, he has stolen tens of thousands of dollars’ worth of merchandise.

Photos released Friday showed the man smashing the jewelry case at Credit Jewelry near Northwest 23rd Street and North Broadway Avenue.

“The man simply walks in with some type of heavy instrument in his hand,” Oklahoma City Police Department Master Sergeant Gary Knight said. “He smashes the glass, reaches and grabs tens of thousands of dollars’ worth of jewelry and then flees.”

Police said he has done the same thing at two other pawn shops across the city.

“Sometimes, he asks if he can see some jewelry, and when the clerk turns around, he smashes the glass,” Knight said. “They usually back away from him.”

According to police reports, one of those pawn shops was near Northwest 23rd and Villa. The other store is located near Northwest 63rd and Western.
